A series of three collages, 62″ x 42″. The first, Azure Walking, can be viewed at the Hays Arts Council in Downtown Hays, Smokey Hill Exhibit until June 7, 2019.
“The In-Between” represents many things to me but the main idea of it has to do with image splicing and how the eye can be overwhelmed by the many images we are presented with. I received an award for this piece at the Smokey Hill Art Exhibition in Hays, Kansas last Spring. This piece also mirrors the way I design many of my stained glass works.
This is the third piece in this series. collage has been one of my favorite ways to design stained glass windows, there are many advantages to what I call a shorthand design technique. Emerald City is a spin off, if you will, and is done with pixelated photos of collages specifically made for this process.
